Bubbles and Eggs

View Project Info

Bubbles are moments of suppressed action. They are beautiful, delicate, and about to break apart and disappear forever. Eggs equally share this ephemeral nature and description. Throughout my work, I employ these forms to express anticipation and a breath of stillness before chaos. My egg shapes are not meant to reference fertility in a traditional sense, but I do wish them to confer expectation and a sense of arrival. Bubbles and eggs create the connections between all the distinct notions that are floating through this body of work. Each image is linked to an emotion, a memory, or a reaction to my environment. These connections however are distorted and not quite grasped yet. My work reflects the moments before realization, in that gap between wanting and knowing.
